Główną inspiracją kolekcji wiosna/lato 2012 były prace holenderskiej fotografki, Rineke Dijkstry. Ciekawa, raczej chłodna kolorystyka (delikatne błękity, beże, szarości i khaki) ożywa dzięki akcentowi nasyconego odcienia lazuru. Ciekawym rozwiązaniem jest także cieniowanie materiałów – sukienki wyglądają dzięki temu jak zmoczone falami.
Na uwagę zasługuje także nadruk, który pojawił się na kilku modelach w kolekcji – drobne “ciapki” w kolorach brązowym i różowym przypominają trochę moro, trochę azteckie wzory znane nam z aktualnego sezonu i światowych wybiegów.
Kolekcja Szulca łączy ubrania całkiem formalne i miękkie, niemalże dresowe zestawy. Kroje są jednak uniwersalne: odszyte z innego materiału całkiem zmieniają swój charakter.
Według mnie była to jedna z najlepszych kolekcji tego wydania Fashion Week Poland.
Michał Szulc debiutował w 2005 kolekcją ‘iapan’. To minimalista ceniący funkcjonalność i konstrukcję w ubiorze. Jest asystentem w pracowni projektowania ubioru na łódzkiej ASP. Był dwukrotnym stypendystą Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego Obecnie pracuje nad konceptem pozasezonowej kolekcji SALE.
